WE WANT YOU: Volunteer or Work for Crack Theatre Festival 2015

Have you ever felt like you didn’t quite fit in? The things you like sit a bit outside of the mainstream? You want to see nonstop free shows that make your eyes go ‘pow’, your brain go ‘what?!’ and your heart go ‘yes!’ You want to meet like-minded people from around the country. You want to stay up late seeing shows. This is the festival for you. Welcome to the family.

The Crack Theatre Festival is a part of This Is Not Art, a festival held each year in Newcastle. The Festival is a place to talk, make and work. With over 70 artists, 29 performances, 9 master classes, workshops, and talks… these are the 4 days of the year you DO NOT want to miss. One of the best ways to be involved is to volunteer with the Festival. Go behind the scenes and help us make the Festival happen!

Volunteer Positions

We’re looking for volunteers to join the Crack Theatre Festival family to fill a variety of roles during the Festival period from September 24 – October 6.

By volunteering, you’ll earn the friendship of a bunch of cool cats, 1UP your life skills, and learn about what goes into making an independent arts festival truly amazing. We love our volunteers dearly and want make sure you’re fed and watered, so you’ll get a voucher for a famous Crack House Snack House Toastie and a Beer/Wine/Soft Drink for every hour you help us out. Plus you’ll get a badge, t-shirt and all the sweaty hugs you need.

Next Level

There are also a number of more engaged paid roles with longer lead times that would may suit students, recent graduates, or keen individuals looking to hone their experience.

Technical Manager (Paid)
Are you a super awesome technical person who wants to be the eyes and hands on the ground during the Festival? You’ll work alongside our Production Manager to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

We are looking for someone to take charge of the bar in the Crack House. You’ll need your RSA and some experience, and feel good about math.

Are you handy with a hammer? Know your way around a lighting desk? A super fantastic stage manager? We’re looking for 3 Technical Assistants to work closely with our Technical and Production Managers to make our Festival run smoothly.
