the Hunter – Let’s Face It 2015 portrait art exhibition

Portrait Painters Hunter have just held their 2015 portrait exhibition at Adamstown Uniting Church’s Memorial Hall which was a resounding success all round.  With over 200 people packing the venue at the official opening night, artists were elated at the interest shown by the public and the public were appreciative of the high standard of work shown.

The theme of the exhibition was portraits of Hunter identities, some well known and others well known within their communities. The exhibition is a celebration of the efforts that these people give back to society.

Thirty four paintings were displayed, mainly large paintings and in all genres. A very large ‘mosaic’ painting consisting of 30 individual panels and joined together- 2metres x 2.4 metres (6’x8′) – was painted by 25 artists in their individual styles and medium.  The subject of the mosaic was NATHAN OUTTERIDGE of Lake Macquarie who is 2014 World Champion Sailor – Moth Class and Gold Medal Olympian Sailor,  London Olympic Games, 49’s Class.
