Kay McFarlane Smith
Although I have been a professional landscape artist since 1984 and won numerous awards, it is only recently that I have been able to engage my passion for portraiture.
I am an invited exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and exhibit at the RAS Lavender Bay Gallery. I am also a member of the Society of Artists Newcastle and fortunate to be part of, Portrait Painters Hunter, providing as it does, a forum of creative individuals with very diverse styles who value challenge.
Essentially, I am an impressionist painter leaning toward a realistic identifiable representation. Capturing the essence of an individual is challenging and rewarding and something that constantly motivates me to new projects.
My work is represented in private and corporate collections in Canada, US, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan and England, and can be viewed on my website along with details of my prizes and publications. My studio is at Soldiers Point, Port Stephens and I welcome enquires.
