‘UNIQUE PEOPLE OF THE HUNTER 2019’ ART PORTRAIT EXHIBITION

The artists of Portrait Painters Hunter will be holding their 2019 Archibald-styled portrait exhibition of Hunter residents in March. The exhibition this year is titled ‘UNIQUE PEOPLE OF THE HUNTER’.

There will be over 30 portraits hung of Hunter notable identities and volunteers, plus about the same number of smaller, sketchier portraits of people who have come throughout the year to the Society of Newcastle’s studio building in Lambton Park, to have their portraits painted.

Some of the ‘identities’ taking part this year are – Kurt Fearnley OAM, Grahame Nickisson from Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service, Terry Burns very recently retired Chief Inspector of Hunter Police Service, Sisters Betty Brown and Diana Santleben of Zara’s House,and Pat Conroy local MP.

The exhibition is at Adamstown Uniting Church Memorial Hall, cnr Glebe & Brunker Rds Adamstown, opening night is Friday March 22nd at 6pm with nibbles and drinks. The Novatones – Newcastle’s premier Men’s Barbershop Chorus – will delight with their vocals.

The exhibition is also open for viewing and sales Saturday and Sunday 23rd & 24th 10am -4pm.

Come and join us to see and read about these unique Hunter people. Gold coin entry will go to charity.
