INVITATION: Creative Sector Consultation and Collaboration
OPEN INVITATION TO THE CREATIVE SECTOR
Smart Arts is a partnership between the City of Newcastle, Octapod and The Business Centre which delivers a program supporting the creative industries in Newcastle to be collaborative, inclusive and sustainable – business and professional skills development, as well as networking and collaboration opportunities.
Octapod and The Business Centre are looking to expand the program across the Hunter region by partnering with other local councils. In order to deliver a relevant program for 2016 in Newcastle, Smart Arts is looking to consult with the local creative sector around your professional development needs.
There are also many arts and cultural organisations doing work in the professional development area specific to an art form or discipline. Smart Arts hopes to bring people together, to discuss potential scheduling (to avoid clashes), professional development program collaborations and development.
Just being aware of what each other is doing, will assist in all of our decision making. We hope to avoid duplication of programs and calendar clashes, while maximising our audiences by cross-marketing events.
In the spirit of working together and open dialogue we hope you can join us to discuss the value of collaboration, partnerships and mutual support before Arts NSW announces their 2016 funding arrangements.
Let’s work together to best invest in the skills of creative individuals and organisations and enhance Newcastle as a creative, culturally rich and vibrant community.
