Create 2308 project funding available

Create 2308 is back in 2017. The festival celebrates the creativity and imagination of you – our students and staff at UON.

Create 2308 is all about collaboration, creativity, imagination and participation. We want everyone to get involved and showcase their creativity, so we’re calling for submissions and participation from any and all members of the UON Community.

To make Create 2308 happen we’re now calling all of our creative minds out there. Every single one of you who studies or works at the Uni and has a killer idea that challenges our traditional thoughts on art or wants to realise a dream project somewhere on campus is welcome to participate. Surprise and engage fellow students and staff with your idea!

Let your imagination fly free and submit your project details online. Project funding is available to successful applicants. Submit your application here.

Proposals for Create 2308 can be submitted by all creative and passionate art enthusiasts (not just Fine Art students) who are keen to share their talent and ideas with the UON community as part of the festival.

Submissions that involve any of the following elements will be highly regarded: collaborations between students and staff; collaborations across faculties; cross art form projects; staging, performance or presentation in unusual places and spaces; projects that engage a large number of participants or audience.

Unique, evocative and abstract performances and exhibits will challenge your traditional thoughts on art and creativity over the week of the festival. The events are all free and located conveniently for you all around the campus so you can make the most of our jam packed schedule and not miss a single event.

Prepare to be surprised. Previous Create 2308 pieces have included a giant claw machine created from scratch by IT, Psychology & Engineering students, a giant whoopee cushion in the Brennan Room, a huge snake in the Shortland Building that spanned the distance between Subway & the Godfrey Tanner Bar, interactive canvases, winged trees and more. Who knows what 2017 will bring?
