Be part of Tantrum’s 2018 Trajectory Ensemble!

Tantrum Youth Arts are looking for emerging artists (18 – 26 years, or in the first 5 years of their professional practice) who are creative, motivated, keen to extend themselves, experiment, collaborate and work with amazing industry professionals to develop a new performance work.

This year the Trajectory Ensemble will be led by the incredible dynamic duo Lucas Stibbard and Neridah Waters. Lucas and Neridah are co-founders of The Escapists, the Brisbane-based theatre company that brought the award-winning, internationally touring hit boy girl wall to life.

With Tantrum’s 2018 Trajectory Ensemble, Lucas and Neridah will explore the world of interactive performance by developing a living museum that investigates myth and ritual in contemporary culture. The professional development and training that Ensemble members will receive in 2018 will include ensemble work, physical theatre, puppetry and impulse work, drawing from leading contemporary companies such as Complicite and Frantic Assembly.

The Ensemble will develop and present a new performance work for presentation at Crack X Festival (29th – 30th September 2018) – a national platform for new performance as part of This is Not Art.

The Trajectory Ensemble is an annual program of professional development for emerging artists interested in process-driven performance making. Each year the ensemble works with a professional artist to create and present a daring, brand new contemporary performance work. Previous Trajectory Ensembles have worked with theatre-maker Janie Gibson and performance artist Lottie Consalvo.
