The Lock-Up Cultural Centre

Located in the heart of Newcastle’s heritage precinct in Newcastle’s original Police Station and Lock-Up, the Centre combines a museum, gallery and artist-in-residence program to create a unique destination with a range of cultural activity not offered anywhere else in Newcastle or the Hunter Valley.

Hunter Arts Network (HAN) has set up a series of Art Bazaar Cruise Markets to coincide with cruise ships arriving in Newcastle, which complement the quarterly art bazaars held around the Hunter. Locals & visitors are all invited to browse & shop at all Art Bazaars.

The forgotten architecture of early Newcastle will come to life when the Reconstructing Victorian Newcastle exhibition and app is launched today at Newcastle Museum.

The market is coinciding with a big cruise liner coming into Newcastle Harbour.
Original handcrafted goods will be showcased by HAN's finest artists, designers, jewellers & craft people from the Hunter
