As advocates of Newcastle's musical prestige and culture I am putting out to you some information on the Mattara Rail Newcastle project which aims to bring the atmosphere, energy and culture of the European underground busking scene to Newcastle.

The Mattara Rail project plans to have buskers register online to participate in the event - then turn up and busk along certain trains on the Hunter and Central Coast Lines on Sunday September 25th.

Performers will then encourage listeners (with the help of an information flier) in and around the stations to go to the Mattara Festival Facebook page and vote for their act - the act with the most 'likes' wins the $1000 Musos Corner Voucher.

Performers will then gather on the foreshore area outside Customs House for the presentation.

The project is funded by Newcastle City Council who are trying to reenergise the Newcastle Mattara Festival.
