Marking Time is a collection of images developed over the last two years since returning to Australia from Ireland. All works are 2D, mixed media.
The images are a response to living in a world overloaded with information, which can be liberating and provide instant gratification, but at the same time can also be disturbing. As thinking living organisms, we are surrounded by data from many sources, therefore our day to day contact with people and our environment must provoke a response.
Often we cannot contribute or respond directly to what confronts us, so I want to record and communicate my response in a visual way. The viewer is asked to look beyond the immediate image and form his own opinion as to the meaning of the imagery. The mark making I am presenting has no right or wrong response.

The exhibition at the Wollombi Cultural Centre Old Fire Shed Gallery runs from Saturday 2 May and continues Friday to Monday for three weeks, closing on Sunday 17 May 2009.
Opening drinks with the artist from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday 2 May.
