Act II - Acting Tuition (suitable for students in Years 9, 10 and 11)
ACT II is an innovative and fresh approach to acting that supplements student learning in the current schools curriculum and supports students who are new to the craft. This is a very practice-focussed program that will build self-confidence, expression and artistic ability. There is a very strong focus on physical well-being, relaxation, controlling nerves and stage fright, diet and posture in this program. Breathing and voice studies are incorporated as this age-range is most at risk of developing life-long habits that may be detrimental. A range of topics are presented throughout the program. Younger participants entering into a second or third consecutive year in this program take on a mentoring role and additional course work in the form of short written and performance assignments. Students are also given the opportunity of auditioning for some of the regions premier theatre groups, and participating in professional placements to see and learn the craft in action.
Classes are conducted weekly (2 hours) outside of regular business hours. Class times and venues vary depending on the location.
