The Olive Tree Market will hold it’s Winter market on the second Saturday of the month for July only.
Discover new stall holders, sample winter fare from amazing food stalls, all whilst being serenaded by two stages of live music featuring some of our finest local musicians. Don’t miss an amazing day out exploring the most talented artists and designers of the region. The Olive Tree Market’s featured stallholder this month textile artist Madi Astolfi of Unpicking, who will also hold a Sunflower Wreath Embroidery Workshop, alongside her stall. Madi discovered her passion for hand embroidery soon after completing her HSC in 2015 and hasn’t been able to put it down since. At the ripe old age of 19 Madi is doing amazing things with her craft and is best known for her contemporary embroidery pieces that feature cacti and quirky plants which are inspired by the space she works and lives in. Madi has quickly grown a strong social media following, runs a successful online business, teaches workshops all while studying a criminology degree full-time in Sydney. RELAX TO LIVE MUSIC ALL DAY
The Olive Tree Market has two stages of music running all day curated to showcase a range of diverse musicians showcasing a taste of what’s happening in the currently exploding local music scene. Including:
young singer and songwriter Kalun Townsend who blends electronic components with Indie-Rock sounds, Emmy Rose’s incredible vocals and guitar playing create a sound which is beautifully developed with a maturity that can only come from her years of experience and Jake Howden who is making an incredible mark on the indie music seen with his electronic / folk sounds.
PARKING AND FREE RICKSHAW TO OLIVE TREE
To make parking easy Newcastle NOW, The Olive Tree Market and Lynch’s Hub are providing free rickshaws for market customers between the suggested parking venue at Harbour Park Car Park, 11 Argyle Street, and Civic Park to make parking easy on market day. There is a great flat rate of $5 for all day parking.
