An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Tuesday and Wednesday, repeating until May 3, 2017
On May 5th, professional artists from Curious Legends will be working with participants from the Newcastle Community to create a large scale street theatre performance. Taking place in Civic Park at 5pm, the performance will include Aboriginal dreamtime stories, giant puppets, ghosts, and multimedia projections. There will be food, coffee, and a big grassy lawn – so bring your picnic rugs and settle in for the evening!
To perform with us, come to one of our open rehearsals, then show up early on the night of the performance. There’s lots to do – you might be holding a puppet, spearing a fish, launching a torpedo, or helping a pelican to fly! All ages are welcome, and joining in is free.
Dates: May 2nd & 3rd
Times: 4pm to 6m
Location: Civic Park, Newcastle
Performing not your thing? Come join in with Curious Legends in their studios for the Hidden Port Project – lots of help is needed to bring this show to life!
Community Making Workshops
Dates: April 29th & 30th
Times: 10am to 4pm
Location: 8-10 Union Street, Newcastle West (old Nautilus Fitness building)
Much of the content for the performance has come from stories and images sent in for our Hidden Port Competition – go HERE to see the awesome submissions.
