Sculpture in the Vineyards is a dynamic outdoor site specific exhibition of large scale sculptures by international, interstate and local sculptors. 2011 will again feature an exhibition of small scale sculptures at The Gate Gallery
Now in its 8th year and is held at five vineyards in Wollombi Valley at Undercliff Winery, Stonehurst Cedar Creek, Noyce Wines, Wollombi Village vineyard, Wollombi Wines together with a small sculpture exhibition at The Gate Gallery.
Set in the picturesque Wollombi Valley, Sculpture in the Vineyards features each year an innovative array of large-scale outdoor and site-specific works by local, regional and city-based artists. Wollombi, already home to many artists, writers and performers, provides fertile ground for the festival-like atmosphere created as a new community of artists come together.
Visitors to Sculpture in the Vineyards are invited to enjoy contemporary art amidst the springtime beauty of Undercliff Winery, Stonehurst Cedar Creek, Noyce Brothers, Wollombi Village and Wollombi Wines vineyards while sampling unique local wines.
Visit by car or join one of three guided bus tours of the exhibition for an informal and fun day out in the Lower Hunter Valley. You could also make some art yourself and participate in one of the creative workshops on offer.
