Location

Peter SPEIGHT was a Newcastle-based Artist who had a long exhibition history making sculptures from  found and recycled timber. He also made drawings on recycled cardboard and timber reliefs.  He had been exhibitng in the Hunter for over the past 15years. 

Peter studied Visual Arts at the Univeristy of Newcasle, completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts (first class honours) in 1999, He recently won the 2011 Maitland Art Prize for figurative sculpture.  Peter passed away in 2012, age 46.
