The 2 ghost-like figures in the background represents images and fear from the past with possible conflict, shadowing towards both ladies. The right-side ghost figure casts a cross towards the present. The bird on a pole is a symbol of proud freedom, relating to the young lady on the right. The 2 sky colors also shows the calm blue, with the overpowering and changing weather (colors) of the above skies being removed from the bird (freedom). The lady on the right reaches beyond these uncertain conditions by what she does (surfing). A silhouette of a house is a symbol of stability on the far right. The yellow representing the present, shows peace and connect, mostly associated with the lady on the right.
