“My work is concerned with an emotional response to the natural world. I paint semi abstract land and seascapes representing specific locations that have left a memorable impression. I like the sensuality and depth of colour of oil paint used in gestured and direct brushstrokes asserting the materiality of paint and the painted surface. My current work is in oil on canvas allowing me to use the palette knife to add movement and depth to the wet paint.”
