
BERNADETTE SMITH
Bernadette Smith has a Master of Fine Art in Film from San Francisco Art Institute, a Graduate Diploma majoring in film and photography from City Art Institute, Sydney and a Certificate IV in Multimedia. Her art practice includes painting, photography, screen and cultural critique. She
has been selected for the Mosman Art Prize and the Florence Biennale. She is a founding member of Octapod's filmmakers collective and was part of the media team for This Is Not Art Festival (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjwdcn_WiLg).
Bernadette has previously worked on independent documentaries and personal films and is currently working on a series of short social critique web documentaries which explore the impact of mining and unemployment on Newcastle.
Bernadette also serves as Vice President of Octapod, a not for profit independent arts and new media organisation based in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
