MR CLEGG'S CREATIVE INDUSTRY
To celebrate and showcase the work of the third year graduating acting students, Hunter TAFE is proud to present a 2-week festival of performances created through vocational training :
MR CLEGG'S CREATIVE INDUSTRY
* Never been done in Newcastle before *
If you have never seen anything put on by the tafe before.... this is the best time to do it! And if you have, this is the last chance to see work from the 3rd year actors - who brought you 'The Great American Trailer Park Musical', the CONDA Award Winning 'Kafka! Kafka!', and this year's acclaimed 'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot'.
The third year graduating students of the Advanced Diploma in Arts (Acting) will have either written, performed, directed and/or produced the festival works.
This inaugural two-week festival of performances includes:
• plays by Pulitzer Prize winners, The Zoo Story by Edward Albee and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley
• the Australian premiere of Dr Horrible - the world's first musical blog
• and four new works written and developed by the graduating students
As the Festival takes place during the school holidays, children and parents can also enjoy daytime performances of a re-working of the children's classic Alice in Wonderland.
Each night over the two-week festival, there are three distinct TRIPLE TREAT programs, which means there are three exciting shows in each program. The programs are:
• STARS AND STRIPES – 3 plays by American writers
• FRESH BAKED – 3 new works written and directed by our graduate student writers
• INTIMATES – 3 works written, performed and directed by Australian women
• DR HORRIBLE (the internet musical) – is a LATE NIGHT SHOW scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights only
Buy a single ticket to each production or buy a Friend of Mr Clegg ticket and get a festival ticket to everything on offer to the session f your choice over the two-week period.
