Fundraisers: Together we muse the last coal train
On 20 December 2009, 23 people were arrested for stopping a coal train in Newcastle for seven hours. For their effort, they got over 10 hours in the cell and over $10,000 worth of fines.
So, we are putting on a couple of fundraisers to help them cover the costs incurred.
The proceeds from all of these events will go to the fines from the coal train action on 20 December last year.
Please come a show your support at one or both of these events. It will be a demonstration of your support for real action on climate change in Newcastle and a just transition to a sustainable future ( as well as for the enjoyment of good music).
